I the beggining, there was
none. A group of students, then neophytes in its very sense,
has concieved of an identity. It was made flesh in 1997 when
a group of computer science majors organized the Information
Technology Society also known as ITSOC.
It was composed of two batches of CMSC students, the batch 96
and the batch 97. The org was readily accepted, but since it
has no strong roots, the early branches withered. There was
a lost in grip, and it created a vacum, a space where "virtual
reality" was born. |
However the group has to exist somewhere, with the absence of
a formal recognition, existence was jeopardized. The decendants
of the forefathers then took initiative, reincarnation is at
hand. Now armed with heavy load convictions and aspirations
nourished in the bosom of "virtuality" that co-existed with
the vacum, the group is now ready to face the world.
First phase was the intitutionalizing of the organization with
a new name, |

Club I.T. The club was readily accepted by the society, identity
was established. Since it was fresh from the concept of idealism,
it did not branch out widely as expected. However the foundation
was well constructed, with these assumptions, new branches replaced
the old.
The batch 97 maintained the core group, this will remain until
the organization has grown enough to maintain itself. The batch
98, batch 99 and batch 2k became the nursery for potential leaders.
The objectives of the first phase were sufficiently satisfied.
Now we are starting with the new and second phase of the development.
Admissions of new members are expected to reach the high abd
wide together with the strenghtening ideals and goals of the
organization.
